Edith Palm Exhibition and Pop-Up Showroom at Eighth Veil

Painting by Egon Schiele

Sarah Aaronson has a flair for story telling. On Dec. 10, the designer of the Edith Palm collection, will present an installation and pop-up showroom at Eighth Veil in Hollywood.

The L.A.-based designer and visual artist, who was featured in Gen Art’s “The New Garde” in 2005, has created collections based on themes as varied as Bolshevicks invading the Wild West to a Moby Dick- infused “The Solemn Mysteries of the Ancient Order Deep.”

For her upcoming installation, Aaronson imagined a convergence of Austrian painter Egon Schiele, Hasidic Judaism and post-WW1 Vienna. Clearly a thought-provoking topic. But that’s the Edith Palm girl – distinctive, analytical, non-conforming and slightly ironic. To create the installation, Aaronson draws on the artistic and intellectual climate of the post-WWI period. She explores such topics as the clothing of the Jewish population of the time as well as wardrobe taboos - i.e. women wearing traditional male garments.

The exhibition will debut with a reception on Dec. 10 at Eighth Veil, a contemporary art exhibition and publishing house. It will remain open from Dec. 11 to Dec. 12 from 11 am to 4 pm. For more information go to EighthVeil.org.
