Nixon Pops Up in London

Friday, April 22, 2011

Encinitas, Calif.–based watch and accessories brand Nixon is crossing the pond to debut its first pop-up shop in London’s Selfridges store. Set to debut on April 22 in the iconic retailer’s contemporary menswear accessories department, the month-long pop-up shop features Nixon’s collection of men’s watches, headphones and accessories. Girls’ watches, purses, accessories and soft goods won’t be part of the Nixon pop-up shop.

The brand, which is steeped in surf and skate culture, won’t be dusting the sand off its feet at the posh store. “The theme of the Nixon space is inspired by its heritage in boardsports and will retrace the various aspects of Nixon world,” a release from the company said. The pop-up store will broadcast exclusive videos and music selections from Nixon’s Art Mosh—a rotating global art installation presenting original works from the brand’s team riders and friends of Nixon.

The company, which sells its watches and accessories for men and women in more than 45 countries, was founded in 1998 and is now a division of Billabong International. --Erin Barajas
