This will put a damper on holiday shopping.

At 8:40 a.m. today, a suspicious package was reported at 6801 Hollywood Blvd., the address for the Hollywood & Highland shopping center, according to Los Angeles Police Officer Norma Eisenman.

The entire shopping center was evacuated. Bomb squad trucks could be seen racing down Hollywood Boulevard to the scene as well as the Los Angeles Fire Department. LAPD had blocked traffic on parts of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue around the shopping center, which was creating traffic havoc among commuters.

After clearing out the area, no bomb was found and the shopping center was reopened at 11:53 a.m.

The bomb threat came the day after the big Hollywood Christmas Parade took place Sunday night, with Olivia Newton-John serving as the grand marshal.
