WINDS FOR THE EASTERN SIERRA AND LAHONTAN BASIN OF WESTERN
NEVADA...
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Zone 273 Mono and Eastern Alpine Counties
and Fire Zone 459 Mineral and Southern Lyon Counties.
* Thunderstorms...Thunderstorms have ended this evening, but will
expand northward on Thursday. The north edge of the
thunderstorm activity will have limited rainfall with lightning
caused fires probable.
* Outflow Winds...Gusty and erratic outflow winds of 40 to 50
mph can be expected near thunderstorms.
* Impacts...Lightning can create new fire starts and may combine
with strong outflow winds to cause a fire to rapidly grow in
size and intensity.
