...FREEZING FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM PST THIS MORNING...
The National Weather Service in Hanford has issued a Freezing Fog
Advisory, which is in effect until 9 AM PST this morning.
* TEMPERATURES...Falling to the lower to mid 20s.
* VISIBILITIES...Visibilities reduced to less than one quarter of
a mile in patchy dense fog from Hanford east along highway 198
to Visalia and north along highway 43 to Selma and south along
highway 43 to Corcoran. Some patchy dense fog is possible to
form later this morning West of highway 99 to west of Merced.
* TIMING...Temperatures falling below 28 degrees between 1 am and
8 am PST Friday morning. Fog expected to burn off by 10 am PST.
* IMPACTS...Temperatures this cold can cause damage to pipes and
can kill plants that are sensitive to cold if precautions are
not taken. People and pets without warm shelter will be
impacted. Dense fog can create travel impacts, such as pacing by
CHP and slow traffic due to low visibilities. Take extra time
this morning for locally dense fog in parts of the San Joaquin
Valley.
