Anne Cole to Be Honored by Otis

Los Angeles-based Otis College of Art and Design will honor swimwear designer Anne Cole, sculptor Robert Graham and actor-director-artist Dennis Hopper at the design school’s 2001 Critics’ Awards fashion show benefit to be held May 5 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

This is the second time Cole has been honored by the school. This year’s event, which is a salute to “California Originals,” will recognize Cole’s contribution to swimwear and California design as the design director of Cole of California, the swim company founded by her father in 1926.

The May 5 event will also feature the work of Otis fashion students. This year’s class worked under the direction of several prominent designers including David Cardona, Todd Oldham, Nicole Miller, John Varvatos and Isabel Toledo.
