Hayman to be Honored at CDC Fashion Show

Los Angeles-based design school California Design College (CDC) will honor former retailer and fragrance entrepreneur Fred Hayman at the school’s 10th annual fashion show gala on May 20 at the Regal Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

Hayman is the founder and former chief executive officer of Giorgio Beverly Hills. Los Angeles Department of Water and Power general manager S. David Freeman will be the keynote speaker at the gala. Freeman served as energy adviser to former President Jimmy Carter and is the author of the book “Energy: The New Era.”

The designs of CDC’s 2001 graduates will be presented in a fashion show featuring wearable technology. The students’ work will demonstrate how technology will be worn and incorporated into apparel in the future, according to Sabrina Kay, president and chief executive officer of CDC.

Fashion industry executives and editors who will serve as judges for the fashion show include: designer and CDC alumna Neglia Tonetto of Ticci Tonetto; ABC-TV’s “Main Floor” host, Nancy Stafford; People magazine’s West Coast style editor, Steven Cojucaru; Los Angeles magazine publisher Liz Miller; InStyle magazine senior international correspondent Lisa Simpson; Styleclick.com account manager Tammy Wood; and Heidi Schaeffer, senior account executive for P/M/K Public Relations.
