California Designers Nominated for Dallas Fashion Awards
The International Apparel Mart in Dallas recently announced 42 finalists for the 2001 Dallas Fashion Awards, which will be held Oct. 27 at the Dallas Mart.
A national nominating committee made up of specialty and department store buyers, fashion editors and representatives from industry associations selected three finalists each in 14 categories, including children’s, intimate apparel, contemporary, sportswear and designer. Three of the categories, menswear, bridal and prom pageant, are new to the event, according to spokeswoman Laura Mengwasser.
Sauvage Swimwear in San Diego, Tessuto and Bisou Bisou in Los Angeles, To the Max in Vernon, Jessica McClintock in San Francisco and David Meister in City of Industry are just a few of the California-based companies that were nominated for an award.
Other nominees include Erica Lyons, Tommy Bahama, Yansi Fugel and Buffalo Jeans. —Claudia Figueroa
