New York-based 7th on Sixth Inc., the arm of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) that puts on the New York fashion week shows, has been sold to IMG, the sports and celebrity management company with offices in 32 countries; top CFDA officials, including executive director Fern Mallis, are expected to move over to IMG ... New York City-based specialty retailer J. Crew has announced the launch of a new line of childrenswear, J.Crew Kid, that will include jeans and chinos, tanks and T-shirts, dresses, outerwear, sweaters, swimwear, accessories and shoes; the line, for kids ages 6 through 12, is scheduled to be in Crew stores in Sacramento, Chicago, Houston and Boston in March, and a catalog launch is set for July ... A Pennsylvania woman, convicted four times of shoplifting, has been ordered by the judge at her latest trial to wear a badge that reads “Convicted Shoplifter” whenever she goes out to shop, according to a report in The New York Post...Their show last season was staged in a funeral parlor, so perhaps it’s not surprising that, at their new show during this New York Fashion Week, Matt Damhave and Tara Subkoff, aka Imitation of Christ, are planning to pass the hat for Sweatshop Watch and Free the Children, two charities that support efforts to end child labor and sweatshops.
