Sears, Roebuck & Co. expects to deduce costs associated with credit risks and improve revenues by several million dollars annually with new credit-scoring software that the retailer believes is among the fastest and most flexible on the marketplace.
The new Account Scoring Engine (ASE) system was developed by Sears and Irvine, Calif.-based SignalTree Solutions to provide expanded functionality, speed and flexibility in the area of customer behavior modeling performed by the Sears credit department, significantly improving its credit decision process.
SignalTree is working on the second phase of the program to enable business users to define new rules through a Web-based interface. —Robert McAllister
