Mervyn's Unveils 'Simple Style'

Kate Rice, style spokesperson for Mervyn’s, has launched an in-store series of fashion solutions for the San Francisco-based department store chain. Called “Simple Style,” the shopping program was designed to provide the budget-conscous shopper fashion-savvy dressing advice, avoiding costs normally associated with using a personal shopper.

The program features an in-store display of trend-right coordinates along with complimentary “Kate’s Picks” cards, which include photos of the items, mix-and-match ideas, coordinating accessory options and the prices of the items. The “Simple Style” program runs quarterly, with the summer portion of the series in stores May 6–26, followed by the fall installment Sept. 2–22. —Darryl James
