U.S. Economy Shows Improvement

The U.S. economy showed slight improvement in October, according to the Conference Board. The New York-based research firm released its index of leading economic indicators for the month, showing a 0.3 percent increase to 109.4 in October after two consecutive months of declining numbers. The leading economic indicators include new orders for consumer goods, money supply, stock prices, unemployment claims, average weekly hours and consumer expectations.
