CGS Acquires Leadtec Systems

New York-based software developer Computer Generated Solutions Inc. (CGS) has acquired Canoga Park, Calif.-based Leadtec Systems Inc., an apparel industry supplier of shop-floor and payroll software management equipment.

As part of the deal, CGS obtains Leadtec’s Satelite Plus system, a shop-floor control system that provides companies with productivity tracking with capabilities of supporting a user base of 280-plus plants and more than 55,000 real-time terminals.

“Acquiring Leadtec takes CGS directly to the shop floor,” said CGS chief executive officer Phil Friedman. “This acquisition makes CGS by far the largest solutions provider to the sewn-products industry.”

Added Paul Magel, senior vice president of CGS’ Application Solutions Division, “Satelite Plus combined with our product offerings and CGS’ implementation and customer service capabilities is an excellent combination servicing virtually all segments of the sewn-products industry.”

CGS is known for its Blue Cherry and ACS Optima software suites, which provide enterprise resource planning tools for the apparel industry. —R.M.
