CMCSuite B-301(760) 745-1800

Under the creative management of husband and wife duo Ken Brown and Kristine Garett, URU’s showroom specializes in silk and chiffon blouses, skirts and dresses, as well as wool dusters and jackets, for the missy market. There are roughly 67 separate pieces in the updated missy collection, which is currently sold at Nordstrom as well as better boutiques, including MCole in Santa Monica, Calif. Wholesale price points start at $39 for a silk tank blouse. It’s a one-size-fits-all collection that is geared toward women between the ages of 30 and 54. URU, which is produced at the company’s 8,000-square-foot facility in Escondido, Calif., has international appeal with various textures, tunic styles and use of European and Asian embellishments.

The 950-square-foot showroom is new for the company, which had previously been in suite C-302. Decorated in earth tones, the showroom is ornamented with bits and pieces of Asian culture, including a 500-year-old Guan-Yin statue, which brings good luck to the showroom. —Claudia Figueroa
