Extra Fine Sugar Launches at ASR

Sugar is growing up—and it’s becoming extra fine.

Extra Fine Sugar, the offspring of Sugar, a junior label that was launched six years ago by Irvine, Calif.-based R&S Trading Company Inc., will debut a designer contemporary collection during the Feb. 2–4 run of the Action Sports Retailer Trade Expo (ASR) at the Long Beach [Calif.] Convention Center.

“Extra Fine Sugar is for that older Sugar girl that has been into Sugar for a few years now and is ready for a little more upscale contemporary fashion,” said Kimberly Bingham, marketing director.

Sugar began as a sister collection to the urban young men’s line called 26 Red. It later branched into Sugar shoes and Sugar makeup.

Extra Fine Sugar’s 16-piece collection is geared toward young women between the ages of 18 and 25 and will consist of knitted T-shirts and denim. Designer Kim Tyler created several novelty denim washes for the line, including “Extra Fine,” “Dark Sugar” and “Tint Wash.” The collection also includes trendy-yet-functional footwear designed by Wendy Wolther. Wholesale price points range from $30 for a knit top to $80 for novelty denim.

Extra Fine Sugar will be located in booth #1859 at ASR. For more information, call (949) 477-4484. —Claudia Figueroa
