Guatemala Sourcing Show Set for May

The 11th annual Apparel Sourcing Show in Guatemala is set to open May 15 at the Grand Tikal Futura Hotel & Convention Center in Guatemala City.

The show, organized by VESTEX, the apparel division of the Association of Exporters of Non-Traditional Products (AGEXPRONT), drew its highest attendance last year with more than 3,000 visitors. Organizers said they expect this year’s run to continue this trend as U.S. and Central American manufacturers and suppliers look to take advantage of the trade opportunities offered by the Caribbean Basin Trade Partnership Act (CBTPA).

The show draws visitors from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Taiwan, Korea, Hong Kong and other countries within Central America and exhibitors from international textiles, machinery, embroidery, technology and services companies. It also includes a seminar series and a matchmaking service that pairs manufacturers and retailers with regional contractors. (Last year, show organizers said more than 700 business meetings were held during the two days of matchmaking.)
