Clothier, Wife Honored by the University of Judaism

In recognition of their work on behalf of Jewish communities, Maxwell Hillary Salter, chairman of Los Angeles-based Beno’s Clothing Stores, and his wife, Janet, will be honored by the University of Judaism on Jan. 17 at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif. The event begins at 6 p.m., and tickets cost $250 per person.

The dinner will also inaugurate the university’s Sigi Ziering Institute, which will explore the ethical and religious implications of the Holocaust.

Maxwell Hillary Salter, a former mayor of Beverly Hills, serves on the advisory board of the Jewish Community Foundation. Janet Salter, a published cartoonist, is president of the Beverly Hills Theatre Guild and was the chairperson of the Beverly Hills Fine Arts Commission.
