AAFA Goes Abroad

The Washington, D.C.-based American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA) is undertaking its first overseas trade mission to Vietnam Jan. 20–27. The trade mission includes 15 AAFA members, who are meeting with government officials and industry leaders, touring factories and export processing zones, and attending meetings on trade and investment regulations in Vietnam.

The trade mission was organized in coordination with law firm Sandler, Travis and Rosenberg, the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association and the Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association.

AAFA is also heading to the Dominican Republic for its fourth annual global forum. This year, the forum will focus on human resources practices for U.S. companies doing business offshore. Attendees will hear from members of the Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Labor and labor attorneys and will tour local factories.
