Unifi, BASF and Ge-Ray Team for Liquidity

Textile fiber producers Unifi and BASF and converter Ge-Ray have joined forces to launch a new collection of circular knits called Liquidity.

The washable nylon knits have the stretch, shine, soft hand and good drape of a silk jersey but are easier to care for and are more moderately priced, according to the company. The collection includes jerseys and ribs with Lycra.

Each of the three companies has a distinct role in the manufacturing process. Greensboro, N.C.-based Unifi provides its Novva yarns, which are texturized branded yarns made from Mt. Olive, N.J.-based BASF’s nylon feeder yarn. New York-based Ge-Ray Fabrics produces and distributes the fabric.
