Tyler's Fashion Week Mixer

“Better late than never” is how Los Angeles designer Richard Tyler described L.A.’s growing street cred with the announcement that Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is coming to his home turf in April. “[L.A.’s] image is only going to grow,” Tyler said at a party he held at his 12-year-old boutique on Beverly Boulevard during Spring 2003 Los Angeles Fashion Week. The event drew more than 100 people and featured informal modeling of his Tyler collection, now in its second season. “We wanted to keep our dollars for the next event,” said Tyler, who plans to stage a show in April. —Nola Sarkisian-Miller
