Art Support
Actress Lisa Kudrow joined Inner-City Arts students and board members in breaking ground at an Oct. 1 event to kick off a $7.5 million expansion project, which will add 24,000 square feet of space including a new visual arts center, an animation studio, a second ceramics studio, a library, a conference center and an outdoor teaching space. Thanks to the expansion, Inner-City Arts will be able to provide services to an additional 12,000 children, bringing the total to 20,000 students per year participating in the arts program.
The expansion was funded through corporate support from the Ahmanson Foundation, the Annenberg Foundation, the S. Mark Taper Foundation, the Staples Center Foundation and the Weingart Foundation. Inner-City Arts also received assistance from individual supporters, including many in the apparel and textile community.
