Herb Yussim is launching his special-occasion dress line, Lucca Blu, and opening his City Production showroom at the Gerry Building in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. The 2,300-square-foot space will serve as a showroom, design center and administration office. The deacute;cor is simple: a Barcelona leather chair and couch are situated in a small corner of the room with an ivorycolored armchair and faux-fur throw close by.
Lucca Blu targets women between the ages of 25 and 35 who are looking for elegant, dressy eveningwear.
“We like to call it sophisticated and fun eveningwear,” said Yussim, who described the line’s look as “California glamour.”
A sexy honey-toned silk sheath dress with a low back and bead embellishments, a white crinkle-silk flutter-sleeve dress, a matte jersey necklace medallion dress, and a cream-colored crinkle-silk chiffon flapper dress with turquoise beading are some looks from the line, which Yussim produces in Asia. Wholesale price points range from $72 for a dress with ruched lace over satin to $129 for an allover-beaded dress.
