Crosses, crowns, butterflies, stars and American flags are just some of the images on the Yvette Mandell contemporary line of tanks and longsleeved T-shirts. The line uses glazed screen prints and Swarovski crystals to give a high-quality look to the novelty tops.
Many specialty stores—including Priorities in Newport Beach, Calif., Fred Segal Hollywood Trading Co. in Santa Monica, Calif., Girlfriends in Beverly Hills, Calif., and Pink Leopard in Corona del Mar, Calif.—carry the two-year-old line. Wholesale prices run from $28 to $30 for tanks and from $32 to $34 for long-sleeved T-shirts.
The designer and creator of the company, Yvette Mandell, is a former financial analyst and a University of Southern California grad.
“I wanted to design a line that would be hip and trendy hellip; that a 20 year old would wear and a mom would wear too,” said the fashion-conscious mom. “Fashion is a passion for me. I’m having a great response to the line, and I’m having fun with it.”
