The BADExpo Fashion Conference, created to “focus aspiring designers on the business of fashion,” is scheduled for Sept. 12–13 at the Flatotel in New York. The event will promote Bright Aspiring DesignersNew York Spring 2004 Fashion Week Show.

Organizers said the first day of the conference will give up-and-coming designers an opportunity to learn the skills necessary for success in the fashion industry.

The second day will feature a marketplace for attendees to exhibit their work and establish important connections. A lucky few will showcase their designs at an invitation- only evening fashion show.

The collections that will be featured include E’LAN, a line with “New Age edginess” by Eji Benson and Le Yang; Original Gear, sports apparel designed by Miami Dolphins’ Oronde Gadsden that has gained popularity on and off the football field; United Notti Collection, upscale men’s clothing promoting “individuality and consumer liberation”; and YNDIGO Designs, jewelry inspired from shapes and a “woman’s individual style.”
