Government Officials to Speak on Sourcing at ASAP

Representatives from the governments of Bangladesh, Bolivia, China and the Philippines will present a seminar titled “Global Sourcing Made Easy” from 1–5 p.m. on Feb. 18 at the Las Vegas Hilton. The event will take place during the Apparel Sourcing Association Pavilion’s (ASAP) Global Sourcing Show.

Another seminar, titled “The Worldhellip;Post 2005,” will be presented by Tom Travis from consultant group Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg and will run from 10 a.m.–noon.

Both events are free to attendees of the ASAP show, which runs Feb. 17–20 at the Hilton. The show features representatives from approximately 200 factories and 30 countries.

ASAP president Frank Yuan said that with quota-free markets coming in two years, the global marketplace is expected to become more competitive. These seminars will explore the opportunities available now and in 2005, when the World Trade Organization eliminates quotas, said Yuan.
