Two Lines From Master P

Hip-hop mogul Master P thinks he knows what teens want in their fashion.

The New Orleans-based recording artist, who already has a men’s collection called P. Miller, is launching two new lines at MAGIC International: Passion by P. Miller, a junior sportswear collection, and Shorties by P. Miller, a trendy activewear collection for young girls.

Swat Fame Inc., a City of Industry, Calif.- based junior and childrenswear manufacturer that makes branded apparel for Jonathan Martin and L.E.I., among others, will produce both collections. The collections are geared toward chain retailers and specialty stores, said the company.

“Urban apparel labels such as P. Miller now have mass, mainstream apparel, and girls everywhere want to achieve this look,” said Mitchell Quaranta, president and chief operating officer of Swat Fame.

With price points ranging from $13 to $19, Passion by P. Miller offers novelty T-shirts, French terry track suits with special treatments, motorcycle jackets and low-rider denims with hipster belts in junior sizes.

Shorties by P. Miller is geared toward young girls between the ages of 6 and 13 and features a small-scale version of the junior collection. Novelty T-shirts, such as “Romeo” mesh inset knit tops and indigo denim with red yarn-dye insets are just a few pieces in the collection, which is priced between $7 and $16.

Both collections will be at MAGIC booth #33219 in the streetwear section of the Las Vegas Convention Center. For more information, call the New York showroom at (212) 944-8022. —Claudia Figueroa
