Gottschalks to Present at EDI Seminar

Chris Noble, EDI administrator for Fresno, Calif.-based department-store chain Gottschalks will be the guest speaker at a Fashion Business, Inc. seminar. The seminar is set for Jan. 29, 6–9 p.m., at the New Mart Fashion Theater in Los Angeles.

Noble will address EDI (electronic data interchange) issues at the event, which is sponsored by AIMS, Progressive Label and Innovative Systems.

Noble is a longtime administrator for the nearly 100-year-old retail chain, which has 84 units in six Western states. The seminar, titled “How to Prepare for EDI,” will cover UPC numbers and bar coding, 810 invoices, 850 purchase orders, 832 UPC Catalog and QRS, 856 ASN, UCC-128 labels, EDI integration, service bureaus and in-house translators and mappings. The fee for the seminar is $35 reserved or $40 at the door. The New Mart is at 127 E. 9th St.
