California designer Cornell Collins was among four emerging designers recognized at the Gen Art Ignite event on July 17 in New York. The four designers, all of African-American and Latino descent, each received a $2,000 grant from Gen Art and event sponsor Heineken. Other designers included Miami-based Dulce de Leche and New York–based Sistahs Harlem and Alonzo Ramos for Alonzo. The show featured an installation of the designers’ work and several live performance-art pieces.
