Paxar Files Suit Against Competitor

Two leaders in the tags-and-labels business appear to be heading for a courtroom battle. Paxar Corp. of White Plains, N.Y., has filed a lawsuit against Vernon Hills, Ill.–based Zebra Technologies Corp. in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. The lawsuit charges Zebra with infringing upon eight of Paxar’s patents relating to barcode printers.

Paxar is seeking to enjoin Zebra from selling, manufacturing and using its TR220, QL320, PA400, PT400 and Xi series printers and the Zebra Portable Printer. Paxar is also seeking undetermined damages for the alleged willful and deliberate nature of the infringement.
