Seward Joins California Apparel News Staff

Stylist Jayne Seward has been named fashion editor of the California Apparel News. She replaces Joselle Yokogawa, who has left to pursue other interests in New York.

Seward has been working with the California Apparel News for the past year and a half as a freelance stylist and contributing fashion editor. Last year, she helped launch Jr., California Apparel News’ glossy publication targeting the junior market.

Since 1995, the Colorado native has lived in Los Angeles, where she has worked as a stylist for publications such as Ocean Drive, Raygun, Rosie, Stuff, Playboy, Oxygen and Oye. She has also worked as a costumer for films such as “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” and “Bring It On Again” and for television programs including “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Days of Our Lives,” and the pilot for “Legally Blonde.” Most recently, she was a costume designer on the upcoming feature film “The Hazing,” written and directed by Rolfe Kanefsky.

In addition, Seward served as a stylist for the Los Angeles Dodgers’ catalog and for commercials for Toyota Motor Corp. and The Learning Channel, among others. She was also a contributing writer for The Tobeacute; Report.

Seward holds a bachelor of fine arts degree in fashion design from Stephens College in Columbia, Mo.

“Jayne has been a dedicated member of the team at California Apparel News and was a logical candidate for the promotion to fashion editor,” said Executive Editor Alison A. Nieder. “Her styling and costume-design experience will be a strong asset to the paper.”
