Wal-Mart Review
The California Department of Labor is reviewing Wal-Mart Stores Inc. to see if the retail giant is complying with state wage and hour laws. Under investigation is whether Wal-Mart employees in California are receiving proper meal breaks. State law dictates that employees must receive a halfhour meal break for every eighthour shift. If they do not receive a half-hour break, employers must pay an extra hour of wages.
