Dress-Code Settlement

Abercrombie & Fitch Co. has settled its suit with several sales associates in California who said they had been forced to purchase A&F clothing while working in the company’s stores. The Ohio-based retailer agreed to pay $2.2 million in a settlement of the class-action case, which involved about 11,600 current and former sales associates of A&F stores and the company’s other retail division, Hollister. A&F is also facing a lawsuit filed last week by California university students who have charged the retailer with discriminatory hiring practices.
