Seven for All Mankind Plans Expansion

Los Angeles-based Seven for All Mankind has hired Stefano Aldighieri and Tim Kaeding to spearhead the company’s design efforts. Chairman and chief executive officer Peter Koral said the company plans to expand its brand.

“I am very pleased and excited that we have pulled together such a well-rounded team that intrinsically understands that Seven for All Mankind philosophy,” said Koral. “Their combined experience and exposure on a global level is invaluable to us.”

Aldighieri, who will serve as creative director for Seven, previously worked as a design director at San Francisco-based Levi Strauss & Co., where he was responsible for sourcing textiles. Kaeding, who will serve as head designer for Seven, was formerly a designer at Gap in San Francisco, where he designed women’s denim. Both designers said they hope to expand the line by adding new styles for men.

“The expansion of the Seven for All Mankind line is needed in today’s market,” said Aldighieri. “We want to bring the entire line to the next level.”

Currently, the line features denim, corduroys and twill bottoms in contemporary styles for men and women. For Fall, the denim maker will introduce wide-wale corduroy and vintage pincord pants to its collection. The line, which retails from $110 to $170, is sold at better retailers such as Neiman Marcus, Barneys and Saks.

Last year, Seven for All Mankind reported net sales of $64 million. This year, the company expects to see higher net gains.

Koral launched the line three years ago with partners Michael Glasser and Jerome Dahan. Last year, Glasser and Dahan parted ways with Koral. Their new brand, Citizens of Humanity, debuted last month at the Fashion Coterie trade show in New York. —Claudia Figueroa
