Services Set for Dreamgirl Founder Patricia Fischer

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 4 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., for Patricia Fischer, president and founder of Culver City, Calif.–based lingerie maker Lovin’ Enterprises Inc.

Fischer passed away Sept. 28 in Los Angeles after a long battle with cancer. She was 63.

Fischer founded the then-homebased Lovin’ Enterprises in 1978 as a single mother looking to spend more time with her 6-year-old son. She quit a successful career as an editorial coordinator for Playgirl magazine and launched the business from her Southern California home, where she hosted lingerie parties for area women.

Eight years later, the business blossomed into a branded line of lingerie, costumes and clubwear under the Dreamgirl label, which today is distributed to more than 2,500 accounts throughout North America, the Middle East, Australia and Japan.

Earlier this year, Fischer sold the company to former BCBG Max Azria Vice President Christopher C. Scharff.

Scharff said Fischer will be missed by hundreds of Lovin’ Enterprises employees, sales representatives and distributors, as well as vendors and customers.

“She was well-respected, well-regarded, energetic and had a monumental sense of humor. She had a fantastic influence on everyone here,” Scharff said. “We intend to carry on and grow the legacy that Pat left: a healthy consumer-driven international manufacturing company with a loyal customer base. I am personally grateful for her support and contribution to the company even after the recent sale.”

Fischer is survived by her son, Joshua Fischer. A donation in memory of Patricia Fischer may be made to one of the following organizations: the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or the National Organization for Women Foundation (www.now.org). —Robert McAllister
