Hot Topic Promotions
Jerry Cook has been promoted to president of Hot Topic Inc. after having served as chief operating officer of the Commerce, Calif.–based retailer. The company also promoted Patricia Van Cleave to president of the company’s plus-size chain, Torrid. Van Cleave was previously chief merchandising officer of Hot Topic, a position she held since September 2002. In his new position, Cook will continue to oversee real estate for both Hot Topic and Torrid and will add supervision of buying, planning and allocation for Hot Topic to his duties. Van Cleave will oversee buying, planning, allocation and marketing for Torrid.
