L.A. Fashion Week Fall '04: Karanina
Karanina Santa Barbara, Calif.–based designers Kara Smith and Nina Firestone presented their Karanina collection, a young contemporary tops line, at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios in Culver City on March 30.
The Fall line exuded femininity and confidence. The 39-piece collection is a play on retro themes and modern styles, the designers said backstage after the show.
A bohemian floral-print silk sleeveless turtleneck, a herringbone strapless dress worn over a long-sleeved shirt with elongated button details on the sleeves, and a houndstooth tube shirt were a few simple, yet modish looks that the designers paired with Lucky Brand Dungarees and chic high heels. —C.F.
