Tarrant Loss and Sales

Los Angeles– based Tarrant Apparel Group announced a net loss of $68.6 million in the second quarter of 2004. The manufacturer said the loss was caused in part by a $78 million charge for impairment of assets stemming from an appraisal of the company’s holdings in Mexico. Prior to reporting the second-quarter results, Tarrant announced plans to sell “substantially all” of the Mexico facility to Kamel Nacif, who has been leasing the facility for the past year.
