C&C to Open Showroom at Cooper Design Space

Hot T-shirt brand C&C California is going places.

The 2-year-old Los Angeles–based line, launched by Claire Stansfield and Cheyann Benedict, will open its first corporate showroom next month at the Cooper Design Space in Los Angeles.

To coincide with the opening, the company is launching a denim collection, which will include bottoms and jackets, and has hired a new sales team.

As a start-up, C&C raked in $5 million during its first year of business. The company is on target to finish this year with $25 million in sales, Stansfield said. That kind of growth calls for a bigger showroom. The company, which had been showing alongside Citizens of Humanity at Sea in The New Mart, is occupying a temporary suite at the Cooper until next month, when its 2,200-square-foot showroom is expected to be ready for the Jan. 14–18 market.

“We love the Cooper Building. Cheyann used to shop there as a child. We will be in good company as there are some big names coming into the building,” Stansfield said.

C&C will be among the first tenants on the Cooper’s newly designed sixth floor, which became available after former tenant Bebe Stores Inc. moved out to purchase a property in Los Angeles’ Century City neighborhood.

Stansfield said the company is decorating the room to reflect the themes of its current ad campaign, which uses bright, colorful and airy motifs.

In addition to denim, C&C is bringing fleece into its line. “We hope to have a new fabric every two months,” Stansfield said.
