Fashion Center Dallas Sold on Contemporary Apparel

Fashion Center Dallas, the new $21 million apparel market at the Dallas Market Center, will open March 25 with a sold-out contemporary section.

The DMC has leased 75,000 square feet of its contemporary apparel space on the 15th floor of the World Trade Center, the new home for apparel showrooms at the sprawling DMC campus. The International Apparel Mart closed last month, and most of its tenants have relocated to the WTC, which will also house gift industry showrooms.

DMC president Bill Winsor said contemporary apparel remains a major focus as it continues to gain more attention at retail.

“We are offering a record number of California and West Coast looks in the best facility in the business,” Winsor said. “Our loyal buyers increasingly demand quality contemporary product, and we are delivering it in a big way.”

Among the West Coast lines to be represented are Adriano Goldschmied, Bianca Nero, C&C California, Chip & Pepper, Citizens of Humanity, Corey Lynn Calter, Da-Nang, James Perse, Ella Moss, Joe’s Jeans, Joie, Juicy Couture, 7 for All Mankind, Smashing Grandpa, True Religion and Vince. Other contemporary collections on the floor include Bella Dahl, Custo Barcelona, Cynthia Stef fe, Fray, Free People, French Connection, Jessie Della Femina, Lacoste and Marc by Marc Jacobs.

A new facility called the Fashion Industry Gallery opened last month at the former Southwestern Plaza building in downtown Dallas. FIG also focuses on contemporary apparel.

FCD will officially celebrate its opening with a series of events March 25–28. For more information, call (800) DAL-MKTS.
