Wedding Bells Launched Undiemoon

Mary Beth Ramsey had no idea that making a few wedding gifts for her family and friends would turn into a lingerie business. After being prompted by friends who had received some of her custom wedding sets, Ramsey, a free-lance costumer in Los Angeles with a fashion design and fashion merchandising degree, launched Undiemoon Inc. in August 2000.

Ramsey began the business with the wedding gift theme and then started making everyday lingerie a year later. She describes her line as “pretty, comfortable, cute and kind of on the verge of sexy.”

She likes to design pieces that women can wear during the day with regular clothing.

The collection includes a basics line made in polyester/rayon/spandex or nylon mesh with lace trim. Ramsey slightly changes the design, details and color of the group for each market.

The current “French Sorbet” group of basics includes camisoles, chemises, thongs, G-strings, boyshorts and pajama/yoga pants in French Kiss pink, Seine River blue and Paris Perfume peach. Other groups in the line include “Lollipop,” a colorful nylon mesh group with contrasting polka-dot trim, a sexy “Peek-A-Boo” group in leopard mesh with lace trim and ribbon details, a tropical print “Fiji Island” nylon mesh group, and a “Stripe” group in spun polyester and spandex.

Wholesale prices are $15 for bras, $9 to $17 for panties, $25 to $35 for camisoles, $29 to $32 for chemises and $24 for capri pants.

Undiemoon is carried in H. Lorenzo in West Hollywood, Calif., Emphatic at Fred Segal Santa Monica, and Girlfriends in Beverly Hills.
