Holy Growth

El Segundo–based contemporary denim label True Religion saw its sales double during the first quarter of 2004. The company’s sales climbed from $1.34 million in the fourth quarter of 2003 to $2.69 in the quarter that ended March 31. The public company’s profits more than doubled, increasing from $156,122 to $404,487, according to company reports. True Religion President Jeffrey Lubell credited the increase to growing recognition of the label’s styling and fit. The company sells its jeans at Neiman Marcus, Ron Herman, Henri Bendel, Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom and Urban Outfitters stores and at specialty boutiques in the United States and Canada.
