Los Angeles Fashion Week Spring '05: Shawn

Designer Yohanna Logan returned to the familiar territory of the ’80s silhouette for her Oct. 28 show at the Tokio nightclub in Hollywood. But this time, she added military details and maintained a modern look, mixing cool architectural colors such as concrete gray with military olive and ’80s-era pale pink.

Logan kept the women’s looks girly with ribbon trim, microminis and tiny fitted jackets.

She topped slouchy cuffed shorts with ribbon-trimmed jackets and layered jackets, T-shirts, skirts and leggings. A blouson-style T-shirt dress was worn over cropped Lycra leggings, an army jacket with sweat-shirt details was paired with a flirty sweat-shirt flip skirt, and a pink striped strapless dress with ribbon trim and crinoline was topped by a tiny olive jacket.

For men, the designer revisited the rolled-cuff blazer styles of the 1987 film “Less Than Zero” but stuck to a grungycool palette of black, gray and olive. —Alison A. Nieder
