San Francisco Fashion Week '04: Loungewear Betty

Loungewear Betty brought pinup style to the week with plenty of innerwear and lingerie-inspired pieces that had Shandi Sullivan from “America’s Next Top Model” cheering from the front row. There were plenty of polka dots and pink, as well as ruffles, ribbons and bows. Looks ranged from chiffon baby dolls trimmed in marabou and paired with rufflebacked panties to cropped corset tops with ribbon-trimmed slips. Designer Monni Mc-Cleary closed the show with a re-creation of Alfred Eisenstaedt’s famous World War II photograph of a sailor kissing a nurse in Times Square. —Alison N. Nieder
