Lectra Consolidates Operations in China

Technology provider Lectra has consolidated its operations in Shanghai by moving its Asia-Pacific headquarters, regional training center and call center into one location.

Company executives said the move was made to improve relations with the company’s 3,000 regional customers. The new center spans about 8,000 square feet and accommodates the company’s entire line of CAD software, plotters, cutters and spreaders.

The company’s call center opened in 2001 and the training center opened in 2003.

Lectra executives said the Chinese market is becoming more sophisticated and is integrating more technology solutions as part of their business plan.

“Chinese companies are beginning to invest in developing their own brands and more value-added products,” said Harvey Tseng, Lectra’s general manager for Greater China. —Robert McAllister
