Loehmann's Comes to Burbank

Brooklyn, N.Y.–based off-price retailer Loehmann’s has signed a lease to occupy a 25,000-square-foot store at the Burbank Town Center next spring, reported center owner Crown Realty & Development.

The store will be located at the corner of Burbank and San Fernando boulevards in Burbank, Calif. The lease marks the 13th new tenant at the Town Center over the past year. The center is in the third phase of a tiered renovation program, which started back in 2003. The changes to come include more new stores, a regional marketing program and a conversion of the existing Victoria’s Secret location to the lingerie chain’s new store format.

The Town Center’s first changes include improving pedestrian access to and from the downtown area, as well as a rebranding effort for the center, which was formerly known as Media City Center.

The location will give Loehmann’s exterior visibility within the downtown Burbank retail village, said representatives of Crown. Loehmann’s currently has 16 units in California. —Robert McAllister
