Anti-Dumping Duties

The U.S. Department of Commerce has imposed duties of 4.4 percent to 44.3 percent on certain types of polyester staple fiber coming from China. The fiber is used for filler in ski coats and other products. The action was taken after the Commerce Department determined that the goods were being sold in the United States at below fair market value. The anti-dumping tariffs could last as long as five years. DAK Americas, Nan Ya Plastics Corp. and Wellman Inc. asked Commerce officials to undertake a dumping investigation last June.
