Material World to Emphasize Logistics and Sourcing

The upcoming Material World trade show, to be held April 4–6 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach, Fla., will kick off the three-day event with a panel discussing apparel and textile sourcing.

Kevin Burke, president and chief executive of the American Apparel & Footwear Association, will be the moderator of the discussion, which takes place April 4 at 8:30 a.m. Members of the panel are Wilbur Ross, chairman and chief executive of WL Ross & Co., who will discuss textile sourcing; Raymond Tan, executive vice president of Luen Thai Holdings, who will talk about manufacturing in China; Tom Travis, managing partner of law firm Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, who will cover trade regulations; and Gary Ross, vice president of global manufacturing and sourcing at Liz Claiborne Inc., who will discuss importing U.S. apparel from overseas. Cost of the seminar is $100 in advance or $150 at the door.

On April 5 at 9 a.m., a panel discussion will be held on “When Logistics Goes Strategic: Advanced Practices in Enterprise Logistics.” The panel will be moderated by Rick Ludolph, president of Productive Solutions, and cover how companies are extending logistics activities to achieve more effective global product delivery. Cost is $50 in advance or $75 at the door.
