Oracle Snaps Up Another Company

Redwood City, Calif.–based software giant Oracle Corp. confirmed that it has purchased Austin, Tex.–based 360Commerce Inc., which develops retail management software.

The company did not disclose financial terms of the deal, but company officials said 360Commerce would become part of Oracle’s global retail business unit.

360Commerce provides pointof- sale, inventory management, returns management and workforce management software for retailers.

The acquisition marks another in a series of acquisitions, which include Cambridge, Mass.–based ProfitLogic Inc. and Minneapolisbased Retek Inc. Oracle has been a partner of 360Commerce, and the two share customer Gap Inc. Most of 360Commerce’s employees will remain with Oracle.
