Paxar Releases New Dye-Resistant Labels

White Plains, N.Y.–based Paxar Corp. has released three new labeling tapes designed for the over-dye, industrial-laundering and lingerie markets.

The 4760DWT dye-resistant care-label tape is designed for durable fabrics that remain soft against skin. It’s resistant to dye pick-up such as black residual dyes, said Paxar officials.

The labels are made of coated polyester tape that can be printed on both sides, with sizes from three points and up. They have also been tested to remain flat after repeated launderings.

In addition, Paxar has released the 4700THS heat-seal tape, which is a thermal transfer tape with an industrial heat seal that stands up to abrasive washing. The heat-seal backing has been tested to withstand delamination after repeated washings.

The tape also offers print quality to fit in with bar code–tracking label needs.

Also new is the 910RFS tape, a satin-weave, single-face material that features a proprietary fray-resistant coating that lasts up to over 50 home launderings when used with Paxar’s HS1111 ink. Designed especially for black text, the tape can accommodate sewn-in care labels that will be home laundered or dry-cleaned.

The tape comes in standard widths of 18mm, 24mm and 33mm at 273 yards per roll and is intended for the intimate apparel, womenswear, childrenswear, and casual- and activewear markets. —Robert McAllister
