Fledgling tops line Alexandra Lozov presented a fashion show May 27 at Hollywood hotspot Basque with the help of denim maker Joe’s Jeans.
Launched in August 2005 by designers Olivia Buchon and Alisa Lozovskaya, the Alexandra Lozov line includes jackets, coats and blouses for women. For the fashion show, the designers whipped up some runway-only men’s styles.
Owned by longtime friends of the young designers, Joe’s Jeans presented the event to help build buzz for the brand, Lozovskaya said. “They are like a sister company. Joe’s is really helping us build the line and giving us a lot of support,” she said.
Paired with denim from Joe’s Jeans, the Fall 2006 Alexandra Lozov line includes sexy triangle tops, breezy blouses, fitted velvet blazers and boucleacute; overcoats. Silhouettes are slim and the fabrics are luxurious.
Standout pieces include a military-inspired vest with a peek-a-boo waistline and a fitted pink blazer dripping with strands of pearls. —Erin Barajas
